Due to shortages, I got my PS5 almost 2 years after launch. It's too close to do a minor upgrade. I will probably just wait for the PS6 and have to wait 4 plus years for it to be available. Most of the games I play are just PS4 games anyways.

The launch delays mean that a lot of people just got their PS5 within the last 2 years. Im not trading in my $500 console 2 years later for fancier lighting.

it's crazy that we live in a time where "uh well on some games you already played there is a little less compromise now" is a selling point for a $800 "pro" version of a console during a time where most big games are trash. The PS5 should have came with whatever the pro version now has. The normalization of greed and ignorance towards customers is disgusting.

Jokes aside, this shows that consumer technology is already so good that anything new doesn't improve much upon what we already have. Not just consoles but games (graphics), GPUs, phones, tvs, cars etc. No more big improvements. Technology is stagnating

a friend of mine bought the Pro, then went out and got the high refresh rate tv to take advantage of the new higher refresh rate. THEN he picked up an expansion m.2 drive for his PS5 games, and an 8TB external drive for everything else. He's my friend and I love him, but he never goes part of the way - it's all or nothing. Weirdly, I'm not jealous - but i guess i'm happy for him? Two days later and he's still re-downloading his entire PS library to the Pro. I do know that i will never hear the end of it, though, bless his heart.

I sold my PS5 and got the PRO. The first real game I played was God Of War - Ragnarok and the first 15 minutes of the game made me realize I made the right decision. I was blown away. It’s early and a bunch of games are not optimized; but once they are I’ll rather have the latest hardware. I am eagerly waiting for RDR2 PS5 PRO boost.
