Having lived through Helene near Asheville NC I can tell you for a fact that you might think you have enough water but you don’t. 3 weeks without water and almost 2 months without potable water taught me that.
Save plastic soda bottles and fill with water. Store them in your freezers. It will help keep your food colder longer, and can be used after the thaw.
I lived for some years without power, on an island in northern Canada, in a house I built myself. Now, I live out at the end of the line in the mountains of Wyoming. I've got a dual fuel generator that will run off my buried propane tanks. But, I'll be happy enough to live quietly without any power again.
I aint as ready as i once was......but i was ready once, as i ever was!
Election day is nothing to really worry about, The 6th we all should be looking at.
Make sure your winter coats, coveralls etc are clean and ready. Its hard to wash big things by hand . Make sure everyone has hats , gloves, boots and easy to find. Everyone should also have a flashlight or headlamp and a pocketknife of some kind.
You have more and better than the troops had at Valley Forge in 1777-78.
Make preparedness a lifestyle
Im not overly concerned with the 5th of November...(we have prepped for 20 years) ..6 November..a bit leery. My biggest concern...if my guy wins, the other side has 60 plus days to wreak havoc on this nation.
1. For power, look into windup radios. I have a cheap one, it's $20 at ACE Hardware. It has a radio, a flashlight and a power bank I can connect my phone too. 2. For weapons, get a variety. I have a $300 revolver, 2 small cans of pepper spray, a taser, a couple pocket knives and a baton. Also double locking handcuffs. All together it's worth about $500, including the 100 rounds of ammunition I have. I am not prepping to go out, Im prepping to stay in. 3. Food. Go to food banks. I have about a months worth of food for me and my household (in total about 5 people) because I go to the food bank every few weeks. And we rotate through some of it before I go back. 4. We have a separate filter for water and live near a lake in the city. We also have bleach to treat it. We all live paycheck to paycheck, but we've managed to prep. We are prepping to stay here because between all of us we only have one working car. It just takes alternative means than just going to the store.
Ready as I'm gonna be, I guess.
Rationing is a good idea in all circumstances, especially if you don't know how long it needs to last.
Winters coming soon..i HIGHLY recommend those with cold winters to make sure they got warm thick coats ,winter boots, gloves n hats, shovels, snow tires, etc ready before the snow hits!
A $25 Baofeng radio would be a really good last minute prep. A kerosene heater. A winter sleeping bag. Bottle of rum. Cash from the ATM. A survival manual.
I have an alternator hooked to my hamster’s hamster wheel. That’s my backup power source. Wish me luck! 😂
People make health and wellness a lifestyle; prepping should be a top priority lifestyle 💪
Everybody watching this channel is ready.
Never stop preparing. But also be prepared to live without any power like before electricity was discovered.
We are off grid so we are on solar and have propane backup gens. We have a Simple Pump on the well. We have 15 cord of firewood. We are at 3K feet. With our terrain if we get flooded out, millions are dead. Firearms and ammo are both good. Food is good and heading to excellent. 16 chickens, a rooster and 40 fruit trees. We are taking MPs advice and cleaning our main firearms this weekend.
