OK. I am a Hyprland/Manjaro user (on three PCs). I just installed Cinnamon/Garuda on my NVIDIA Asus notebook PC. Impressive. The zen kernel offers improved performance. Paru installed out of the box. NVIDIA GPU catering and there's an NVIDIA app in settings just in case. Really nice. Cinnamon desktop has really improved since my last LMDE/Cinnamon experience 18 months ago. I do plan installing Hyprland on this Asus, but I am not removing Cinnamon. Looking forward to Cinnamon 6.6 on Garuda. Thanks for the review.

@ironspring

I swapped from windows to linux about 7- 8 months ago, made the deep dive by jumping head first into gauda kde dragonized (did some research before making the jump). I have had zero regrets.

@Kruttlaka

I started out with Garuda in the beginning of my linux life. It's a very nice starting distro!

@smarfbag8714

Garuda got me into Linux gaming by using a GUI tools back in the day (2020 when I started playing games on Linux). Have a warm spot for Garuda a lot. CachyOS still my distro of choice

@petezzzz

Watching on Garuda Dr460nized Gaming! 😎👍🏻

@Sparky_Chipmunk

I really love this, didn't know cinnamon would look this nice.

@darkhosis

Thanks for the tip, this looks very nice. Right up my alley.

@electricalbatross5797

VERY fond memories of running Garuda in early 2024. Not a daily driver for me (I always fall back on Mint for one reason or another), but highly recommended for anyone wanting a good gaming experience. Most complain about bloat, but honestly, It's never gotten in my way. It's there, but never bothered me one bit.

@ginoeelen6374

Been running kde dragonized for years. Loved the theming and still do - even more now with the kde 6 floating panels.

@ardwizze9107

I switched to the (very new) Garuda Mokka KDE version. It is amazing! Garuda was overtaken by Cache and Endavour Linux, but they have upped their game and are back on top. Even this Cinnamon version looks great!

@BernhardErnst

The Garuda setup assistant has a few selected applications that cause installation problems. I recommend installing in smaller batches and not a huge amount at the same time. Installing with a Window Manager like i3 or Sway is quite an adventure at first, but useful for low power computers. Garuda, Fedora and Mint are the distributions that I am using the most. Garuda has a lot of options to get users started for gaming.

@carmensavu5122

Holy smokes how is this the first time I've ever heard about Garuda? How is this not better known? It's gorgeous! I didn't think there existed any distro with Candy icons out of the box. I myself am addicted to the Sours.

@cerescop

I downloaded the browser while you were talking about it and dropped firefox. I was looking for a new one. I think I will stay with Mint. I like the fact it isn't a rolling update and will last a few years. I still install all the incremental updates between main updates.

@lyandraangel

I really like the appearance of Garuda (I live sessioned Dragonized Gaming when picking my distro a few weeks back), except I can't stand the Mac-style button layout. I tried switching it to the other side - that is an option - but it didn't function on everything. The fact I kept losing the close buttons is the main reason I didn't go with it and picked up Nobara instead. If I do get to a point that I really want to run Arch, though, I'll revisit it. (For now, I'm managing alright in Nobara's Fedora, and I honestly am likely try out Mint next, it was my second pick.)

Amazing video, thank you. Didn't see a VPN app installer in the Internet page on setup. Are Ubuntu apps for Private Internet Access VPN and Proton VPN compatible with Garuda Linux? How stable is Garuda Linux due to its Arch base vs. stability of something like Linux Mint? Lastly how difficult is a Calamares install vs. legacy install? I clearly need to watch more tutorials on YouTube 😄😊

@TheOmegaDMM

I may run this as my daily driver only because Eagle!

@the1trancedemon

right click panel - troubleshoot - restart cinnamon (for getting rid of that white window)

@holyhelga

i like manjaro cinnamon

@turtlewax3849

The Cinnamon flavor looks very nice. The customization on what you install is really nice too. Thanks for the heads up on the browser.

@alphabusinesscommunicatiio3733

I personally don't have time or the patients for distro - hopping mint works and I'm staying in that environment.
