Warzone has turned me off for a very long time and it's not just because of the map. Verdansk was legendary but the game needs way more atmosphere, way better audio design, less punishing SBMM, no redeploy balloons, and a return to a real battle royale mode rather than a glorified multiplayer mode. The insane weapon levelling and battle pass system will also be a massive problem for returning players too.
I revisited Warzone after all the hype to see if I've still got it ahead of returning to Verdansk and it actually went a lot better than expected, but even in just 3 games of Warzone, all the problems I dislike with the game were there for all to see.
Verdansk was, and I'm sure still will be, a brilliant map in terms of design, but the game mechanics that we so loved have drastically changed and without a return of those mechanics, the game will be just as brutal.
Verdansk will return on April 3rd and it will be a major event in Warzone's history but I fear it might not be the saving grace for the game.
