More than a decade after the release of Colombiana (2011), speculation is mounting that Zoe Saldana may be returning to the role of Cataleya Restrepo in Colombiana 2. Reports suggest that not only could Saldana be reprising her role, but she may be joined by action icon Jason Statham for an intense, globe-trotting sequel.

The first Colombiana followed Cataleya’s journey from a young girl who witnessed her parents’ murder to a highly trained assassin on a relentless path of revenge. By the film’s conclusion, Cataleya had avenged her family, but her war was far from over.

Insiders claim Colombiana 2 could pick up years later, with Cataleya now operating at an even higher level in the criminal underworld. When a new cartel targets someone she cares about, she is forced back into action. Enter Jason Statham—believed to be playing a former MI6 agent-turned-mercenary with his own vendetta against the same organization. While the two start as adversaries, they may have no choice but to work together against a common enemy.
