US President Donald Trump has rejected Australia’s plea for exemptions from US tariffs on aluminium and steel imports. The US leader had previously agreed to consider the request, which was directly delivered by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Mr Trump’s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Australia would have to consider moving steel production to the United States to qualify for an exemption.
