In Firth of Forth, near Edinburgh, lies the island of Inchkeith. The island has a storied past as a defensive outpost, a quarantine for those afflicted by plague and other diseases, and more. On the island are the mysterious remains of several fortifications. Two engraved date stones above doorways may hold the answer to what these fortifications were used for.
