Special Education teacher Chris Brown found his way to education when he volunteered in the classroom while playing football for the Wichita Force. He believes teaching special education provides an opportunity to be their advocate and their voice when they don’t always have those skills on their own.

In Wichita Public Schools, the world walks in our hallways, with more than 100 languages spoken in students’ homes and 97 countries of origin. The student body is 37.5% Hispanic, 29% Caucasian, 19.7% African American, 8.1% Multi-Racial, 4.7% Asian, and 1% Native American and Pacific Islander.
