The post-rain morning bathed Oku-Nikko in a kaleidoscope of colors. As we strolled around Lake Yunoko, I was content to simply wander and capture the beauty with my camera. While other tourists were feverishly chasing the autumn foliage, I found myself drawn to the ducks.
The warmth from Yumoto Onsen makes Lake Yunoko a perfect winter home for waterfowl like spot-billed ducks, mallards, cormorants, and pochards. As I watched them feed, I couldn't help but wonder where their migration would take them next. Perhaps we'll meet again in Taiwan, in places like Tungshi, Anping, or Guandu.
