In another moment of daily reflection, today we will meditate on two powerful and enriching readings: the First Reading (Ecclesiasticus 6,5-17) and the Gospel (Mark 10,1-12). Both bring profound teachings and valuable guidance on human coexistence, wisdom and the challenges of life as a couple, especially in relation to marriage and relationships.

First Reading (Eccl 6,5-17): The book of Ecclesiasticus, also known as Sirácida, offers us teachings about friendship, wisdom and interpersonal relationships. In the excerpt from Eccl 6:5-17, we are exhorted to seek true and sincere friendships, those that are based on mutual respect, trust and wisdom that comes from God. True friendship is presented as a reflection of divine love itself, capable of providing healing, support and spiritual growth. This text leads us to reflect on the importance of cultivating friendships that are constructive and edifying, which help us get closer to God and live more fully.

Gospel (Mark 10,1-12): The Gospel of Mark presents us with an important teaching of Jesus about marriage and divorce. When the Pharisees question Jesus about allowing divorce, He responds clearly, stating that marriage was instituted by God to be an indissoluble union between a man and a woman. Jesus emphasizes that what God has joined together, man must not separate. This passage challenges us to reflect on the sacredness of marriage, the mutual commitment and respect that must exist between spouses. Furthermore, the Gospel also tells us about the purity and love that should guide all human relationships, especially those based on marriage.

These readings invite us to deeply reflect on friendship, marriage and the importance of relationships that build and strengthen our journey of faith. May we learn from the words of Ecclesiasticus to seek sincere friends and from the words of Jesus to respect and honor the sacrament of marriage.
