Welcome back to the homestead!
Today, I’m sharing how I dehydrate oranges to create beautiful, natural Christmas decorations. This is such a simple and fun way to add a homemade, festive touch to your holiday decor. From garlands to ornaments, these dehydrated orange slices bring a rustic, natural vibe that’s perfect for the season.
I start by slicing fresh oranges and placing them on the dehydrator trays. Then, I dehydrate them for 8–10 hours at 135°F until they’re dry and vibrant. The result is gorgeous, golden-orange slices with a stained-glass effect when the light hits them. Once dried, I use the slices to decorate the garland I made earlier, adding a pop of color and a natural charm to our holiday setup.
Not only are these decorations beautiful and easy to make, but they’re also completely natural and compostable—perfect for those who love eco-friendly, sustainable decor. Thank you for joining me as I bring a little slice of nature into our home for the holidays!
